Drawing a Bird Cage Tattoo

We will now draw the small door. When you do this add the small bars that will make up the birdcage door.

We will now add more wires to your cage in a horizontal pattern next. When this is done draw the loop which is the part of the cage that allows one to hang it up.

For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw the bird escaping from the cage. Add some feathers as they are scattered inside and outside the cage from the bird breaking free. Erase your mistakes if you made any at all.

Description: I was browsing through some lessons I did in the past and couldn't find any tuts on a bird cage. The reason why I wanted to make a lesson on drawing a birdcage is because I saw a tattoo design that was only a silhouette of a simple bird cage with a bird breaking free. It's supposed to symbolize freedom and letting something go. When you let go you are releasing yourself from all the negative thoughts that can race through ones mind whether it be uncertainty of self being, having love for another who doesn't love you, or just for feeling like you are a prisoner in your own skin. I do feel that people need to let their guards down a bit in order to find happiness on the other end. Don't beat yourself up so hard that it leaves mental scars causing stress, confusion and depression. I know that when you try to restrain yourself from doing what your heart wants, you will never truly be happy or free. So, this lesson goes out to all you confused individuals out there that don't know what to do. My answer to you is to break free from your restraints and let your heart lead the way.
