How to Draw Jesus

Step 1.


Begin by making a head shape in the form of a circle. You will then add the facial guidelines like you see here.

Step 2.


Now that you have the head shape sketched out, you can begin sketching out the eyes, and the lining of Jesus' nose like you see here.

Step 3.


Before you go any further with the face, you need to sketch out the shape of his face including th beard outline and all. Next, draw out the shape of his neck, and shoulders. When that is taken care of, you can start sketching out the eyebrows,m eyeb   

Step 4.


Color in the pupils, and then lightly sketch the top lid of his eyes like you see here. From here on out, all the drawing will be done in light sketching strokes. You will begin by making the shading around the nose to detail and define the nose like   

Step 5.


The further you get the easier the steps become. As you can see all you have to do now is begin sketching out Jesus' hair which should be long, and wavy. Add some hair strands for added texture and body. Notice how there seems to be a lump of some so   

Step 6.


Now that you have reached the final step, you can color in the eyebrows, and the carefully sketch out the thorned crown like you see here. This is a bit tricky because the thorns are intertwined together, or twisted if you will. When the thorns are a

Here is how the sketch should come out looking when you are all done. Now you can carefully add some color to Jesus' face and hair like you see in the thumbnail. I hope you had fun drawing Jesus.

Description: Well it's official, the holidays are here and so is a lot of different religions. The reason why I am uploading this lesson today is because a member asked me if I could make a tutorial on "how to draw Jesus", step by step and I said why not. I already have two lessons of this religious character, one of them is on drawing Jesus on a cross, and Jesus Christ. This means I really don't have too much to say about the person in the image. All I can say is that drawing Jesus as we see him in pictures, statues, and books, may be a bit difficult for novice artists to tackle. For me I had to tweak the sketch several times, and I was also stumped on how I was going to make the sketch into a step by step lesson. After I got the image of Jesus sketched in just right, I then had to choose a color for the background and for the flesh. This was tricky for me too because I had to find a shade that would look good to color his face in with, and to be monochromatic in the background. I finally decided that a brown colored tan would be my best bet because this way here you can experience the full effect of Jesus beauty, and have a nice subtle background laying behind him. In case you are wondering, yes I do believe in God and I do believe that Jesus was the son of God. I also believe that God sent down his only begotten son to die on the cross to save all man kind. He died for our sins so we could live sinful, if that makes any sense at all. Anyways, I took great pride in sketching out this image of Christ, and I have a feeling that many of you, not all, will have fun learning how to draw Jesus, step by step too.
