Start off by drawing the guidelines and shapes for your figure. Once that is done you can draw the shapes for each skull daisy.

Begin this step by drawing the rugged shapes of the eyes. These seem to be layered in a flower like manner. Almost like a rose. Add the centers to each eye.

Go ahead and form the head and then draw the mouth area which is a bit different. It's more canine then human. Makes you wonder what kind of skeletal figure this is. Sketch in the detailing to the face.

We will draw in the hairstyle next. This is a typical ethnic style hairdo that you would see on an Italian/Latino woman. Draw in the pearl necklace which is supposed to be a play on a rosary bead which is why there is a cross pendant. When that is do

Here you will basically draw out the rest of her body. Start with the arms and hands, and then draw the rest of her dress which has a top scarf like layer with stringy fringe. Add the detailing and design work to the dress.

Begin drawing the ruffle at the bottom of her dress to finish it off.

You will draw in the monsterous like mouths above the image as well.

You will now add the detailing to the inside of the mouths. These are supposed to be a play on venus flytraps.

This is my favorite step because now we can tackle the task of drawing the skull daisies. One by one, take your time and be sure to draw in the faces and surrounding leaves.

Go ahead and draw the raised skeletal hands and a few more leaves.

We will add the last of the leaves and a bit more detailing. When that is done you can go ahead and erase the mistakes and guides.

Here is the finished drawing. Now you can go and color in the art.

Description: Hello one and all and welcome back to another fun filled, high detailed lesson. Sorry for the delay with uploading new tutorials, but my electric went out for a whole two days and I don't work on the weekends because I take that time to run errands and get things done that need tending to. The concept for this lesson is going to be how to draw a day of the dead skeleton, step by step. The skeletal figure you see before you now is one of my favorite skeletal drawings I have done. I love her design and profile and I also love the daisies along the sides that acts as a frame. They too have skeletal faces in the center. I can not tell you how much I love the way those daisies came out and I am highly considering doing a lesson just on one of those daisies. Anyways, have fun with this lesson. I will be back with a bunch more shortly.
