1

Begin with some guidelines and shapes to form a what looks a face and the outline of the hairstyle.

2

Draw the profile of a face like you see it done for you here. Notice this profile has a sharp look instead of a soft rounded look. Draw in the eye and cheek bump.

3

Now we will begin to draw out the dense cloud formation that is drawn at the top of the head or sky. Then trailing below the clouds you can draw the ocean waves as they form violent arches ready to crash down on their next victim. Sketch in detailing

4

We will draw the tail ends of the ocean which also makes up the hair for the face illusion.

5

Here is where we will draw in more waves that run along chin area of the face, To form the eyebrow you can draw the silhouette of a seagull and smaller ones trailing behind. .

6

For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw in the sailboat that is running the open waters. Funny how the colored image looks like an ocean sketch while the line art looks like a woman's face. Erase the mistakes and all the guides.

7

When all is said and done your drawing should look like the one you see here. It's fun to just sit back now and color in the art to make it come alive.

Description: I was doing some random art on my comp last night and from out of nowhere this creation came through my fingers. So, here it is in a tutorial form, how to draw an ocean illusion, step by step. This drawing really just blows my mind. The concept of the sailboat on the open waters with high roaring waves trailing behind as the sailboat struggles to make it to a new day where the water is calm and the birds are flying. While drawing this concept, I was listening to Thunderclouds by LSD. The face of the woman is mother nature, and she is the one who is making the epic battle between man and sea it's combative and full of rage. I think this will be a fun drawing concept to follow and I do hope that you find this lesson on drawing an ocean illusion inspiring, creative, educational and fun. I will be back with another lesson for this beautiful March day. Be sure to comment, like and share this tutorial for others to find. I love spreading art around because without it, our lives would be without color and what kind of existence would that be?
