Step 1.
First, start off with a basic sketch of the creature drawing. I would begin with basic shapes in order to have a foundation to build on. I suggest that you draw the guides very lightly.

Next draw the face has torn malformed features to it. Take your time and make sure the lines are thinner.

Step 3.
Next, using thin lines again, fill in the teeth and the long tongue. Try to vary the line weights depending on the source of light.

Step 4.
Now it's time to work on the shape of the arm and the hand grasping onto his head. The way this arm is drawn should be sharp edged and very thin at certain points to exaggerate certain features.

Let's work on the individual details of the head and the arm definition. For defining lines, use very thin line weights.

Next, let's work on the back which is malformed into a very large cystic bubble. The smaller individual cyst shapes add an even grizzlier feel to the creature.

Step 7.
Lastly, sketch the lower body and the lower limbs as well. The limbs should be very thin to emphasize the stress of the upper body. It also makes the creature seem to appear strangely human.

Step 8.
Once you have your sketch done, go ahead and prepare to proof your drawing. Make sure that the inks have depth depending on the depth of shadows. Take your time as you ink! There's no second chances with ink. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed!

Description:
Hey guys, Dawn here with another lesson on something cool. I know you’ll enjoy this one because it’s a pretty cool concept on a creature. I would recommend that you get yourself a pencil or ballpoint pen to make nice sharp and thin lines for some of the details. Afterwards, you can transfer the scanned picture into Photoshop and edit the sharpness to add that extra ‘edge’. You don’t have to follow this tutorial for verbatim, it’s just an inspirational guide that will show you the techniques in drawing the concept of this creature. Anyways, I hope you’ll get a kick outta this tut, I had fun creating it. Thanks for viewing and have fun!
