How To Draw Tonto, Tonto from The Lone Ranger
1
To draw Johnny Depp as Tonto, we should first sketch in some basic construction lines. Draw very lightly using a 2H or harder pencil so that the lines are easy to erase later on. Sketch the basic shape of the head with a vertical line down the middle
2
Let's begin with the face by first drawing the eyes along the center guide line. The eyes should be opened wide and almond shaped. Be sure that the pupils and iris's are perfectly round and are facing the exact same direction. The eyes should be roug
3
Now draw the nose and mouth. The bottom of the nose should alight with your middle horizontal guide line. The mouth should align with your lowest guide line. Depp has a well defined upper lip which is somewhat thing but has a strong V shaped in the m
4
Now draw the smooth contours of the face. The bottom of the chin should stick out slightly. The jaw line should recede towards the upper part of the back of the head.
5
Tonto wears straps of cloth around his head as a headband. Draw multiple pieces of fabric crisscrossing over each other with a lot of horizontal folds and wrinkles. The headband should not cover the very top of the head.
6
Draw long, straight hair falling out of the headband on all sides. A piece of hair should protrude from the top of the headband near the back of the head, covering the rear portion of the headband (which you will have to erase). The strands of hair i

Tonto wears a crow on top of his head with it's wings outstretched. The crow should be looking down. The beak should be cone shaped and the eye should be filled in with black. Draw ruffled feathers on the bottom of the crow's body. The middle of the

Draw several large decorative feather hanging from different place in his hair. To draw the feathers, draw one side of each feather with a long, smooth, slightly curved line. The opposite side of each feather should be tattered with split fibers. Dra
9
Now draw Tonto's necklace around his neck. It is made of a series of short, smooth, straight sticks connected in sections by beads. The sticks should form a basic V shape on his neck.
10
The necklace is actually very large and falls down the front of his chest. The same V shaped pattern should continue. Just be patient and do one piece of the necklace at a time and you'll be finished with it in no time!
11
Next, draw the contours of his shoulder and upper arm. He does not wear any clothing on this part of his body, so it should just be bare skin.
12
Let's revisit the face and draw the war paint. Tonto's face is painted which but has black paint that blacks out his eye sockets. Four lines protrudes from each socket - two lines point upwards, two longer lines point downwards. The lines should look
13
Tonto's war paint is not perfect and clean. It has cracks all over it, almost resembling dry mud. Be random with the cracks, making some cracks larger than others. There should be fewer cracks near the mouth and on the nose.
14
Now that we are done penciling the image, we can ink it using a Micron marker or a brush and India ink. Carefully go over each line with patience and be sure not to accidentally ink any unneeded guide lines. Use a fine tipped Micron to draw the crack
15
You can add more depth to the image by giving it shadow. Establish your light source and use black ink or a fat tipped black marker to shade the opposite side of the figure and every clothing wrinkle and fold. Fill in the hair with black. Be sure to
