How to Draw the Bewilderbeast from How to Train Your Dragon 2

Let's get moving shall we? Start with a head guide then draw in the body bubble like shape you see here.

Next, sketch out the top portion of the Bewilderbeast's head or face. This should include the forehead line, the brow arch, an eyelid line and then the mouth.

Up next, sketch in the chin area which is full of short quills. You will then draw the brows in a small spiky manner, then add some shadowing color for the one eye.

Up next, draw the large long horns, then add some bands on the horns to add detailing to the design of this dragon.

Here is where you will spend a lot of time. You have to sketch in the large head which is both long, and made up of layers of hard, sharp frills. Don't forget to make some small points along the bone of the horns too. You will also need to make some

Once that is done you can sketch out the chest, and first front leg. There should be wrinkles to the front leg and then some fold or crease lines.

Now sketch out the large odd shaped back for your dragon called the Bewilderbeast. Included with this body shape you need to draw in the thick tail as well.

Add another leg and foot this time with some small skinny claws or nails. Sketch out some of the dragon's stomach as well as the hind leg.

Add a small frill like wing that starts at the shoulder, but then flows down the back. Also add some fin like frills to the back of the front leg.

Lastly, add the final wing which looks more like a shard of metal then anything. When that is done you can erase your mistakes.

Color in your drawing of Bewilderbeast, then show folks what you did and see if they know who this dragon is.

Description: For those of you who went to the theaters and watched How To Train Your Dragon 2 this dragon species should look familiar to you. Today I will fill a request and show you folks "how to draw the Bewilderbeast". This odd looking dragon has a stubby body with short limbs and a long head. The massive head size and intimidating look would make any man mess in their pants if confronted with a Bewilderbeast. In the movie Drago's Bewilderbeast is used to control the minds of other dragons including Toothless, and it also has some pretty menacing abilities. If you didn't see HTTYD 2 yet, I won't be a party pooper and say too much. All you need to know for now is how you can draw your own Bewilderbeast and hopefully you will find out how to do just that with this lesson.
