How to Draw Spike as a Pony

Step 1.

Begin by drawing the head guide, then the body guide. When that is done you can draw in the neck line followed by the limb guides.

Next, begin sketching out the shape of the head, snout and ear like so.

Use the facial guidelines to draw in the eyes, nostril line and then the mouth. Color in the eye, then add detailing inside the ear.

We can now draw Spike's neck followed by the chest and front legs. Notice one of the legs is lifted.

Now you can draw Spike's back, stomach, and back leg.

Draw in the remaining leg then sketch in the hair at the end of the leg which will also create the hooves.

Almost done folks. Draw the spiky mane, and then his long thick tail. Add the detailing to the mane and tail.

You will draw the cutie mark next, then erase the guidelines and shapes.

Here is the line art for this My Little Pony in the form of Spike. Color him in using green and purple.

Description: I don't know what all you MLP fans will think of this lesson on how to draw Spike as a pony because I'm not sure that I captured his spikyness. Anyways, I only made this lesson because my little sister said that I should make a tutorial on Spike as a pony. This ones for you Danielle so I hope you enjoy this tutorial. The only things she didn't like is how skinny he is, and she said that his cutie mark should have been a scroll because he spits out scrolls with fire. Do you share her same idea? If so let me know.
