How to Draw Morticia Addams

Begin by making the outlined shape for Morticia's head then sketch in the guidelines for her face.

Define her face shape, then draw in the hair line that frames her pretty face. Add that indent along the cheek.

Continue to draw out her long, slightly wavy hairstyle. When that is done add the neck shape too.

Add some hair under her parted arches, then move to step five.

Draw and color in the nicely shaped thin eyebrows, then draw her eyes which should have lashes that are long as bat wings.

Define her eyes by adding the crease on her eyelid, then draw in the actual eyeballs. Sketch in her nose like so, then move along.

Finish your drawing of Morticia Addams by drawing her mouth or lips like you see here. They are full, but not too fat. Erase the mistakes and guides.

You are now ready to color in Morticia Addams. Use dark colors because they are a dark family.

Description: What I have here is a lesson on a female character from one of the first television series The Addams Family. This lesson is going to show you "how to draw Morticia Addams", step by step. The image of Morticia that you see here is of the very first actress that played the character back in the 1960s. The actress' name was Carolyn Jones, and even though I never personally watched The Addams Family in the 60s, she is a good one because of her look. The Addams Family consists of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Grandmama, Wednesday, Pugsley, Pubert Addams and Thing. I might just go ahead and do tuts on the whole family because I know that they where some of the greatest televison characters made. Did you know that The Addams Family started out as a comic strip back in the 30s? It's true, the strip was first published in The New Yorker in 1938 and was created by a cartoonist named Charles Addams. Drawing Morticia Addams should be pretty fun so go ahead and give it a go.
