1

Begin with a large circle and then add in the guidelines for the center creation of the rose bloom. You will also add guidelines for the rose leaves under the bloom as well.

2

Next, begin drawing the bloom from the center out and be sure to take your time because the bloom of a rose should be full and robust.

3

Add the outer layers of petals and then draw in all the flower petals under the bloom like you see here. Be sure to detail the petals too.

4

Add more ofthe petals.

5

Now draw the watercolor marks like you see and color them in.

6

Once the drawing is cleaned up you should have a rose bloom that looks like the one you see here.

Description: The second flower lesson I have for you is on another rose. I wanted to play with the whole coloring/drawing concept as far as the watercolor look so I thought making a lesson on how to draw a rose bloom, step by step would be a perfect way to express emotion through art. The black background goes perfectly with the bleeding trails from the rose bloom. The drawing of the rose itself came out awesome and I think drawing roses over time has really made me more proficient in the concept. Anyways, go ahead and tackle this lesson. I will be back with more tuts to come so stay tuned in.
