Drawing a Chinese Dragon Head
1
Begin by making some simple shapes and guidelines. It's actually only one shape and that is for the face.
2
You will now draw the front part of the dragon's face which is the forehead and snout. This dragon has a long snout. The brow should also be defined and detailed.
3
Okay, we will now draw the open mouth, then draw the chin and hair fluff on the cheek or side of the face. sketch in the nose tip and then draw in the dragon's ear. The ear is recessed back.
4
Complete the face by finishing the eye formation. When that is done you will need to draw in the crinkling on the nose as well as the whisker holes. Draw the long flowing thick whisker, then you are done for now.
5
Fill in the mouth with teeth, a tongue and the connecting tissue on the sides of the mouth. Add detailing around the mouth line to create the gums.
6
Okay guys. We are almost done drawing our Chinese dragon head. Draw in the horn and then the bone like frills on the back part of the head under the horn.
7
We will now sketch in layers of hair under the frills like you see here until its full and flowing.
8
Now for the last drawing step just draw in your Chinese dragon's neck shape, add the neck scales and then the circular scales on the back. Erase the mistakes along with the guides.

Description: Well folks, its that time again to be giving you all a lesson on yet another dragon head, but this time it will be in the form of a Chinese Dragon. I have talked so much about dragons so whenever I made another lesson on one I usually don't know what to talk about. That isn't the case with this one. This time I want to share with you the love I have for these fantasy beasts. Even though I wish they actually did exist, I know in my heart they didn't. My desire and magical dream that dragons did exist at one point in time fueled my fire for drawing another Chinese dragon. This time I wanted to use all sorts of colors that where earthy and full of grit, but also stayed true to the mythical species. In the end the coloring work came out exceptional. It's one of my favorite dragon heads I have drawn thus far and I am happy to be sharing it all with you. So, have fun drawing a Chinese dragon head and as you do, I will ready my next lessons.
