How to Sketch an Anime Face

The first step consists of the simple face shape like you see here. This anime girl is bending her back as she looks at the viewer. Draw in the simple lined nose as well.

For the next step begin sketching out the shapes of her eyes. Start with the thick, long eye shape and with this formation add the lashes and eye crease. You will also add the eyebrows too. To end this step, simply sketch out the mouth and bump for t

Draw the eyeballs, then color in the pupils. Make sure to leave a glare in the eye.

This anime girl's face is practically done. What you will do here is draw in the heavy looking bangs, then draw in the long straight length of her hair. Again, her head is tilted back as she looks at us.

You will now sketch out the shape of her neck, then draw in the shoulder. Draw the shirt line on the shoulder as well as the collar.

We will finish off the hair by sketching out the chunk that is shown on the opposite side. When that is done add strand detailing as well as some of the indent from the top of her head.

The sketch of this anime girl is done. Now you will start the shading process. If you plan on just coloring in the drawing traditionally, then go ahead and do so. If not, begin adding some light shading to the entire face. You will lighten the areas

You will fill in the entire hairstyle. Do this is a slightly darker shade because you will need to add highlights which means the darker the base the more you can define.

Now you can add shading to the body and clothes like so, then touch up some areas where needed.

As you tweak the shading process as you lighten areas and darken others, the end sketch should look like the drawing you see here. I hope you had fun folks.

Description: I haven't done a digital sketch in a while so since I felt like doing one, I decided to make a sketch and turn it into a lesson. So here is "how to sketch an anime girl face", step by step. When drawing this anime girl face I wanted to make her face in a different style. I didn't want her to come out looking like all the other anime females in comics and on television. I tried making her look almost human while sticking with the tradition anime features like her eyes and hair. The nose, mouth and face shape is what changes things up a bit. I really did enjoy making this sketch, and hopefully you will too.
