How to Draw Two-Face

Description: DC Comics has a variety of characters that will forever remain timeless no matter how much remodeling they do to a hero or villains image. If you're an avid fan of Batman, you most likely know how many different movies have been released, and the characters that where added to each motion picture story line. This tutorial is going to be on one of the characters that has been played by three different people or actors over the years. How many villains do you know of started out being a strong alley to Batman? Harvey Dent is one of those allies. This lesson is going to show you "how to draw Two-Face", step by step. You may remember Two-Face from the more recent flick “Batman: The Dark Knight”. The character was played by Aaron Eckhart, and he did a pretty good job. In the very first Batman which started Michael Keaton, (the best actor to play Batman ever), Harvey Dent was played by “Billy Dee Williams”, and after that Tommy Lee Jones got his chance to play Two-Face as well. You see, before he went bad Two-Face was Gotham City's district attorney. You may think that someone of such ranking must have grown up in a normal, and middle class family right? The truth is Harvey was brought up in a very dysfunctional household as well as not coming from money at all. His father was a violent, and cruel man that used to beat his kids on a regular basis. To determine which child would be spared harsh punishment, he would flip a coin. If you remember, Two-Face flips a coin too. He is always seen with his bright shinny two headed silver dollar. Now because of the way Harvey was mistreated as a child, he grew up with a bad taste in his mouth for the upper-class folk which made him feel that this class of people couldn't be trusted. The past of his childhood left him with a subconscious mental illness suffering from bipolar syndrome, and schizophrenia. Despite these handicaps, he still managed to bring himself through school, became a lawyer, and then District Attorney. It all ended for him when he was forever scared by a criminal who threw acid on one side of his face and body. In the movie Batman: The Dark Knight, it shows Harvey Dent being trapped in a warehouse. In the movie he gets his scares when he struggles to break free from his restraints and falls to the floor tipping over a barrel of gasoline which then leaks on the left side of his face and body. The explosion of the warehouse is what sets the gas on fire, and then later burned his left side scarring him for life. Now that he lost the woman he loves, and his body is damaged, all that repression from his childhood breaks free and Two-Face is born. I drew the version from Batman: The Animated Series just in case some of you guys happen to be fans of the show.
