How to Draw Robert Smith, The Cure

Make an outlined shape for the face and or head like so, then sketch in the facial guidelines.

Using the guides you made in step one, begin sketching out the face shape like so, then sketch in the hair line starting at the top of the head. Sketch in some hair chunks onto the sides of his face or forehead area.

Now you can draw in Robert's eyes which are very intense in this image. You have to shade in the ares around the eyes as well as color in the pupils. Draw one side of the nose, then draw the thin line for the mouth.

Now we will sketch out the wild teased hairstyle which is Robert Smith's signature image. Take your time and tweak the hair as you think you need to. Detail the hair for added texture as well.

For the last step all you have to do is draw the neck, then sketch in the shirt, shoulders and all the wrinkling and detailing that follows after you erase the mistakes and guides.

That's it you are done. Now you can add some color if you like, or keep the lead singer from The Cure as a pencil sketch if you want.

That is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands of all time. Today I will show you "how to draw Robert Smith", step by step from The Cure. Robert Smith is a very animated performer with a very distinct sound and personal style. He has been part of The Cure since it's start back in 1976, and is still loved by millions of fans both young and old. He was born Robert James Smith in Blackpool, England and is from a family with a musical background which is probably one of the main reasons why he became a musical performer. He is skilled with many different instruments like piano, guitar, bass guitar, flute, double bass, keyboard, violin and trumpet. His image is one of a kind as well because he wears a wild teased hairstyle, pale complexion, and smeared red lipstick. Robert Smith and The Cure will always be there so we fans can enjoy their music to the fullest.
