How to Draw Night Owls

1

Draw two circles for the owls heads then sketch in the facial guidelines.

2

Start with one owl and that is the left one. Draw in the feathery ears, and some of the head.

3

Next, draw the owl's body and some of the wing shape.

4

Use the facial guidelines to draw in the owls eyes, beak and feathers around the beak to make it look like a mustache of some sorts.

5

Add detailing to the owl's body by sketching in the feathery chest.

6

The first owl is done now you can start the second one which is a little larger. Sketch out the head and body shape like so. Notice how the ears are very feathery.

7

Use the facial guidelines to draw the brows of the owl's eyes, then draw in the skinny hook shaped beak along with the feather patch on the side of the beak.

8

You will draw in the eyes and more of the owl's mouth. Detail the eyes and move to step nine.

9

Detail the owl's face and body which should also include the wing arch. Erase the mistakes and you are done.

10

Here is the line art. Very simple lesson that anyone can tackle. Choose the colors and add life to your owls.

Description: Here is my last lesson for the day and even though the title says "how to draw night owls", there are no such owls with that name. A night owl is actually a term used to describe a person or people who are active or are awake at night for long periods of time. I just wanted to make a drawing on a pair of owls I seen in Google images. I think owls are beautiful mysterious birds who don't get enough exposure. Drawing "night owls" should be a pretty cool concept to tackle because it is different. I do have to go because there is more for me to do that is going to take some time. For now, enjoy this lesson and let me know what you think.
