I see that artist's have problems drawing the lips from a profile view. Whenever there's a 'point' at the edges of the lips or a 'turning point edge', the lip detail lines will close the shape of the lips. Now, usually, you don't see these style of l

The curves of the lips should NOT be drawn with close -protruding upper lip edges. This will not only look unrealistic, but awkward too. The correct way to draw them is a slight dip in the 'cupid's bow', creating a natural appearance.

We will begin with the model. Start with the outlined shape of the face like so, then sketch in the facial guidelines.

Description: My nine year old sister told me that the anime girl in the tutorial thumbnail reminds her of Lady Gaga. At first I was like “yeah right”. But then I took a better look and yeah, she's right. I don't know what was going through my mind when I started drawing this mouth model. I guess hearing the 'Paparazzi' song in the background was subconsciously pushing me to draw a face that looked a bit like Gaga. Anyways, this tutorial will be teaching you how to draw manga or anime mouths, step by step. I know there really isn't anything to drawing the mouths of an anime character, but there are actually a few different types of mouths, and ways that you can draw them to look. I've included some helpful tips that will aid you to drawing mouths a lot easier. The lessons I submitted in the past where helpful, but they could have been created a little better.
