How to Draw Dragon Nightmare Moon

We have a bit of ways to go so let's get started. Begin by making the shapes for the head, torso and back end. Connect the shapes using a neck guide, then draw the limb guide and facial guideline.

Here you will draw Nightmare Moon's dragon head and snout. Once that is done give her some horns.

Continue to work on Nightmare Moon's head and face by drawing the bottom jaw, then begin the face by making the shapes for her big eyes. Once that is done you can add some hair on the back of her neck and add some nostrils too.

Up next just define the face in better detail by making some teeth and marks under the eye.

Up next, draw in Nightmare Moon's eye in better detail. This should include some of her lid, lashes and slit for a pupil.

We will draw out the body starting with the slender neck. Draw the torso or chest like so, then draw in the first front limb which is the arm and talon.

Draw in the other arm, then proceed on with drawing the strap like design plate on her chest which also has an emblem in the center. Add a bracelet on her wrist as well.

We will begin tackling the back end of her body which is the thigh, leg and foot. The lining or shape should be elegant.

Draw the back part of her body which then turns into a long flowing tail. There is an arrow point at the tuft or end of her tail.

Draw the other back leg and foot like so. This should be too hard but just in case take your time.

You can add the anklets on the ankles on Nightmare Moon's legs like so, then draw the moon on her hip which is part of her cutie mark.

Now you can draw the wings which are wide open and spread apart. They are simple, not too elegant. Just clean looking wings.

Add the ribbing inside the wings like you see here, then make the arm bone of the wing which is located right at the top.

Finally, draw in some wispy flames behind Nightmare Moon's dragon form. This will represent the night sky. Erase your mistakes and the guides you made.

Today I will start the day with a bang and show you "how to draw Dragon Nightmare Moon", step by step. Now this is a dragon version of a Little Pony that I really love. I don't know what it is, but Nightmare Moon looks amazing as a dragon don't you agree? The wispy wings and the elegance of her stature as a dragon really goes will hand in hand with who she is as a pony. I do hope those of you who requested a dragon version of Nightmare Moon have fun recreating her in this form.
