Description: Here we have Sir Charles Spencer or otherwise known as Charlie Chaplin. Mr. Chaplin was an English comic actor that made a career by being funny with silent black and white films. He is best known for his work in the United States. In fact, he was so popular, Charlie was actually the most popular movie star in the entire world. He was born on April 16, 1889 and was named after his father Charles Chaplin Sr. Charlie had an estranged half brother named George Wheeler Dryden who he reunited with thirty years later. Growing up in poverty Charlie used to talk about his childhood and say that he wouldn't think about the lifestyle he lived in because being a child, you don't tend to think of the worst, you only try to take yourself out of the situation by being someone else. Charlie's mother was eventually committed into an insane asylum. She went mental from lack of food and from a bad case of syphilis. Enough of all this dreadful news. Let's talk about how Charlie became famous and what was it about him that made him the funniest man alive back in his day. First off, Charlie made his comedic debut at the ripe age of five years old. His mother was booed off stage so he went on and did her performance for her. The crowd went crazy, but it wasn't until Charlie was nine that he took a real interest for theater. He later wrote that it was his mother that gave him the confidence saying “she imbued me with the feeling that I had some sort of talent”. His main goal in life was to become an actor and he would stop at nothing until his goal was achieved. In 1912 Mr. Chaplin was offered a motion picture contract. From then on he seemed to blow up in popularity almost overnight it seemed. He was definitely a talent that couldn't be reckoned with. He had slapstick humor and was able to make the crowd go wild with his mime inspired character design to go with his visual comedy. This lesson will show you "how to draw Charlie Chaplin" and you will succeed because I made sure to make this tutorial easy to follow and understand. Enjoy folks and good luck.
