How to Draw a Pot of Gold

Step 1.


As you can see this is going to be a very easy and fun lesson to follow. All you have to do in this first step is draw a big circle for the base of the cauldron or pot and then add the guidelines in the middle for the shamrock. Once that is done you    

Step 2.


In this step you will start drawing out the shape of the pot or cauldron beginning with the upper sides. Next draw the out line of the bottom base and then use the guidelines to draw out the shamrock. You will also need to draw out the thickness and    

Step 3.


This is your last drawing step and all you have to do is draw out all the gold coins that fill up this Irish pot. Make sure that the coins are perfectly shaped and detailed. Once you have done that you can draw the stem of the shamrock and the upper    

Step 4.


Once you are done you should end up with a drawing that looks like this. All you have to do now is color it in and you have just completed this lesson on how to draw a pot of gold step by step.

Description: Yesterday was a cool day even though I really wasn’t online drawing live too much. I was contemplating with my brief bit of silence, what cool seasonal things I could draw for the upcoming holidays. Now since St. Patrick’s Day is in a few days (March 17th to be exact), I thought that it would be cool to do a lesson on how to draw a pot of gold step by step. We all remember the wives tale of how there is a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow right? Well have you ever stopped to wonder why such a fable was started in the first place? I had to get the answer for myself and so I did a little research. I went surfing around to find out what started the story of such nonsense. It is said that Irish fairies or Leprechauns, hide pots of gold and they are left there to guard it. When rainbows shine through the skies, the gold at the top of the pot attracts the bright colorful light. The Irish make up and believe in such legends because they are people that thrive on luck, and hope. St. Patrick’s Day is all about the Irish and everything that goes with this happy day. I’m sure you have all heard that Irish people can really pound down some series liquor right? Well the Leprechaun represents how the Irish enjoy whiskey, Guinness, pipes of tobacco and snuff and all kinds of laughter and cheer. The “Pot of gold” legend was started in an attempt to give the people of Ireland hope with each passing day. Rainbows are a very special and magical part of children and adults lives because when one is seen, even a miserable frown can be turned upside down.
