Let us begin like we always do, and that is with the basic guidelines and shapes. The shapes you will draw are for the head and body. Once that is complete you can add the guidelines for the neck, leg and tail.

Up next, we will focus on drawing the pheasant's head shape and beak. The head is turned so the bird is looking over it's back. The head lining should be prickly for the short feathery makeup.

Sketch in the feathery band at the base of the neck, then draw the outline around the eye. Also add some scuff marks on the lower part of the neck and detail around inside the eye.

Description: Here is a popular bird that has been grazing the search engine lately. It's one that I admire very much because to me, this bird is not only beautiful, it also reminds me of a raptor. Everyone knows that I am a huge dinosaur fan, so when I decided to make a lesson on how to draw a pheasant, I wanted to be correct and make sure the drawing looks exactly what a pheasant looks like. I think I achieved that goal and for the most part I do believe that drawing a pheasant is going to be rather simple to replicate. Some of you may be wondering why the pheasant is so popular. Well, these are the birds that Labradors, Retrievers, and other hunting dogs are trained to fetch out of the waters when it's hunting season for this particular bird. They have long feathered tails and their colors are autumn like and their heads are simply beautiful. Anyways, it's time I shut up so you can all get busy with drawing a pheasant. I shall return with some more tuts so stay tuned in.
