In this second step you will add the beginning lines for the laces and then the dimensional line of the football's shape. Next add the pointed outlining shapes of the flames all the way around the ball starting from the mid section. Take your time dr

Description: Well I hope you all liked my first tutorial of the day on the Chipettes, which was a really fun lesson for me to do. In this next tutorial I will be doing something a bit different and rather simple. I will show you "how to draw a football" step by step. Now I know there is a ton of people that love learning how to draw different types of sports objects such as footballs, soccer balls, sports players and figures as well as sports jerseys, sneakers and even cleats. Since this tutorial is going to be on a football I will talk a little about the creation of the football. First off footballs back in the day were made from pig bladders that have been inflated with air, which is why they refer to the sport as “pigskin ball”. Over time the development of the football became more and more advanced. The shape of a sports football today is called a "prolate spheroid" and because the shape is such a perfect fit for the grip of a hand for all the men that play this physically challenging sport, it enables them to throw passes with ease. There are different types of balls used as a football and the most common is the one we know and use for American and Canadian football. The ball is a dark brown color and has the texture and feel of soft bumpy rubber, almost like a massaging roller. The ends of a football are slightly pointed and in order to make a football, there is four pieces of leather or plastic required for each playable ball. The pieces are stitched together from the inside and then the leather laces are stitched on the topside to provide grip for passing, holding, and hiking. Each football is about 11 inches long and about 22 inches in circumference around the center. In the early 1900’s, football players used a rugby ball to play their sport until the new advance design of the common football we know and love to play with today. This tutorial will show you "how to draw a football, step by step" with the DragoArt.com name printed on it, but you can use any name you like. The steps are super simple to follow and the instructions are easy to read. I will be back in a bit with more drawing fun so stay tuned folks there is more easy and super lessons on the way.
