Drawing a Jack-O-Lantern Step by Step

Start off with a simple circle and sketch in the facial guidelines.

We will now draw the actual structure for your pumpkin which will house the Jack-o-lantern's face. Notice the shape of the pumpkin is raised as it would be in real life.

You can now draw the pumpkin stem and then add the detailing to the stem.

Lastly, draw in the Jack-o-lantern's face which can be in any style you like. You can either draw the one you see here in the lesson, or make up your own face. When you're done erase your guidelines and mistakes.

Here is the line art. Now just color in your Halloween style pumpkin.

Description: Hey folks, long time no submit huh? Well, today I have a really fun lesson that will show us how to go about drawing a Jack-O-Lantern step by step. I know I have plenty of pumpkin tuts on Dragoart, but I really wanted to make one that looks sort of realistic while being really fun and easy to replicate. So after about a couple sketches I came up with the face you see here on this over-sized pumpkin. The eyes and mouth almost look like it should be from A Nightmare Before Christmas because it sort of looks like Jack Skellington. Anyways, if you are one of those people who is obsessed with Halloween, than you will love this lesson on drawing a Jack-O-Lantern. I shall return with some other fun tuts so stick around to see what they will be on.
