We will begin by drawing the single lined body guidelines and then draw the guides for the heads.

2

Next, draw the butterflies' body shapes like so, then draw in their antenna with small darkened balls at the ends.

3

We will now draw in the two sectioned wings. Notice that each butterfly has their own distinctive wing shaped designs.

4

Draw in the other wing for both butterflies, then add the design pattern on the wings.

5

Lastly, draw in the ribs for the wings and then draw in your choice of designs. When you are satisfied with your butterflies you can erase your mistakes and guidelines.

6

Here is the line art for your butterflies, now you can color them in and add your choice of background for a nice Spring feel.

Description: Spring is here is it shows because the weather is warmer, the birds are coming out, and I already saw my first butterfly. Today I want to show folks how to draw Spring butterflies, step by step but not in a conventional manner. I know most would expect to see tulips, daisies or some other form of Spring flower, but I wanted this drawing to be cool so I made a sakura tree in the background while the butterflies stayed upfront. To me the butterflies came out really pretty and I stayed with the purple/pink hues because I really wanted this colored image to pop out. In all it's a fun lesson to follow especially if you like drawing butterflies. I will be back in a bit folks so stay tuned in.
