Step 1.
You will first draw a circle for the head, then add the shape for the cat's body. Also, sketch in the facial guidelines too.

You will now start sketching out the structure of Longtail's face starting with the sharp lined forehead, cheeks and chin.

Step 3.
Using the facial guidelines, start drawing in the almost diamond shapes for the eyes. Draw the nose including the bridge and all, then add the sharp lining for the mouth or kitty lips.

Step 4.
Finish Longtail's head by drawing the ears and top part of the head. Make sure that the hair is somewhat long on his cranium, as well as around the ears.

Step 5.
We can now focus on the body. To do this sketch out the thick shape of the neck, then draw out the body from back to tail. As you can see he has a "long tail", hence the name Longtail. Make sure to make the arches for his high shoulders.

Step 7.
Lastly, draw in the other front leg as well as the paw. You will add a padding to the back paw like you see here, then you can start erasing the mistakes. You may want to decide if you want the dark bold stripes. If you do you will definitely have to
erase the mistakes and guidelines.

This is Longtail when you are all done. I do hope you find this tutorial to your liking.

Description:
I guess the first lesson I will submit is the one on "how to draw Longtail", step by step from Warrior Cats. I will sometimes make these characters from time to time when people request them. A lot of members have uploaded their own works of art and lessons on these popular cats from the childrens book that has gotten inside the minds of so many teens and young adults. Longtail is what I would call a gray colored tiger cat that has really dark black stripes. Instead of being a robust cat, Longtail is slender with long legs. He does have a scar on his ear which leaves it looking like someone carved a V from his ear. If you are an avid reader of the books you should know all the 411 on Longtail. Unfortunately I didn't read the series yet, so I don't know too much about this Warrior Cat. I do know that Longtail is very protective and doesn't take a liking to cats that are or where naturally born into a clan. Anyways, I think you will find that Longtail is spruced up a bit to go along with his character description or personality. I hope you like this version of one of the coolest looking Warrior Cats I have drawn to date. Peace out folks and enjoy!
