Step 2.
Using that shape make the outline for the slug's body like so. Make sure you include the head and tail. The part of the body that is suctioned to the ground should be straight or flat.

Step 3.
Next, make a trim line to add definition to the slug like so. When that is done you can draw the skin or tissue separation line as well. Next, draw the sensory tentacles for on top of the head, then for the eyes.

how to draw slugs
Description:
So I know that this lesson is sort of strange, but I was amazed that I never submitted a tutorial on "
how to draw a slug
", step by step. There are so many people that have come across these slimy little critters st one point in their life. For some you may have even tried dumping salt on one to see if they really do melt. A question I always used to ask myself was, “why do slugs have so much slime?”. The answer is really simple and understandable when you realize the purpose for the slimy trails they leave behind. It's because slugs require a suction force in order to get around from place to place no matter where they go. If they travel in a straight line, the slim needs to keep them grounded so they can walk. They use slime to walk upside down, vertically, or any which way they choose. Another cool fact about slugs is that they are their own mates. What I mean by that is, each slug born comes with both make and female reproductive organs which means they can have babies all by themselves. So, is it true that they melt if you pour salt on them? And if so why the reaction towards salt? The answer to that age old question is yes they do, and it's because they get dehydrated. Slugs are almost made up of water so when you dump a load of salt on them you are dehydrating their very existence. Should you kill slugs with salt? No, you shouldn't because it's not a nice thing to do. Have you ever tried to do such a thing before? Yes, probably. It's a fact that almost everyone you come in contact with has tried to kill a slug with salt. Well, that's all I have to say. Hopefully I shed some light on this subject. I will be back later with more drawing fun so stay tuned in. Adios people!
