How to Draw Hedwig, Harry Potter

Step 1.

Start off by drawing a circle for the owls head, then sketch in the facial guidelines.

Step 2.

Begin shaping out the head using a soft stroke to create a feathery flow.

Step 3.

Next, draw in the eyes like so, and notice how the lids of the eyes are straight slanted followed by a round shape for the actual eyeball. Sketch in the owl's feathery mustache, then draw the tiny beak.

Step 4.

Simply draw out Hedwig's body starting with the back lining, then draw the wing and end feathers.

Step 5.

Sketch in the detailing to the owl's wing by drawing the individual lines which will form the feathers. The softer feathers also need to be added. This is at the shoulder part of the wing.

Step 6.

You are getting closer to finishing this tutorial. Draw the neck, chest, and stomach shape like so, then draw out the feet and toe nails. Add detailing to the body as well.

Step 7.

Lastly, draw the part of the tree that Hedwig is standing or resting on. Sketch in the bark detailing, then add some sprouting buds on the small twigs. Erase the mistakes then you are all done.

Step 8.

Here she is, Harry's favorite owl in the whole world. Color her in, then your done.

Description: Hey everyone I'm back with another fun lesson for you all. Today I will upload a tutorial on "how to draw Hedwig", step by step. For those few of you that don't know who Hedwig is, all you have to do is type in Harry Potter, and you will almost always see a white owl by his side; that is Hedwig. Despite what some people may think, Hewig was actually a girl, not a boy. She is a Snowy owl, and she was given to Harry on his birthday when he turned eleven years old by Hagrid, Rubeus Hagrid. The whole purpose for owls for magicians, is to use them to carry mail, but in Harry's case Hedwig was also his pet companion. I always liked Hedwig so drawing her was really fun. I know all you Harry Potter fans will definitely enjoy drawing Hedwig especially since it should be a snap to complete. I shall return in a bit so stay tuned in. Adios people!
