How to Draw Anima, Final Fantasy X

Start out by picking your pencils. I really wanted to give this drawing a dark and murky look so in addition to using an H pencil for sketching/lines, and a B pencil for dark outlines, I used an 8B pencil for shading. This pencil it the main reason f

Start out with a basic sketch of Anima. Don't go into too much detail. Use the guidelines if you need them.

You sketch should end up looking something like this. Try to erase any extra lines that you don't need.

Build up on your sketch by sketching in the "feathers" on Anima's head and shell.

Now lightly define the head bandages and eyes.

Now roughly define the rest of the drawing.

Roughly and lightly shade in the background using an 8B pencil. If you don't have an 8B pencil, use the softest pencil that you have.

Now blend in the background using a blending stump.

Go over the lines on the top half of the head using an 8B pencil. Son't press down too hard. It's alright if you lines look rough and grainy.

Start going over the 8B shading using a harder pencil. I used an H pencil for this but any pencil harder than 2B would work fine.

Define the top half of the head. Use an H pencil to sharpen the lines and a blending stump to smooth out your shading.

Roughly go over the inner "shell" and the bottom corner using an 8B pencil. Put a few layers down but refrain from pressing down too hard.

Smooth out the dark shading with a blending stump and define the outlines using an H pencil.

Go over the mouth and jaw lines using an 8B pencil.

shade in the jaw and mouth in the same manner. If your lines with the H pencil aren't dark enough use a B pencil instead.

Now go over the lines of the "neck arms" and the rest of the drawing using the 8B pencil.

You'll notice how this step seems brighter than the others, that's just because of how my scanner works with dark pictures. After going over the lines from the previous step with an H pencil, add on layer after layer of shading using an 8B pencil unt

I remember Anima being a real pain to get in the game but it was all worth it. There's just something so creepy awesome about her/it! I hope you guys enjoys this one!
