How to Draw an Ostrich

Start off by making the head guide like so, then sketch in the facial guidelines. Add the neck line and move to step two.

Using the guide you just made, begin drawing the small face starting with the beak.

Sketch out the odd shape of the head, then draw in the large bulging eyes along with the lashes. Be sure the lining for the head has feathery parts.

Sketch out the lower right jawline or cheek like so, then add the nostril holes on the beak. Sketch in some feathery detailing around the head and neck.

And for your last step all you have to do is draw the shape of the neck, then add detailing as well. Erase the mistakes you may have made as well as the guides.

Here is your ostrich head when you are finished. Now just color it in.

Description: Okay here it is, the last lesson for the day before I return tonight with more. I will be uploading animal heads throughout the week so prepare yourself to see animal tuts. Having said that, here is "how to draw an Ostrich head", step by step. The ostrich is such a weird looking bird. They have these big ball shaped bodies with long necks and small heads. I can remember going to the zoo and I tried to take a picture of the ostrich, but when people got too close to it's habitat, it just ran away. I don't think they are too friendly when it comes to sharing their space and dealing with people. Anyways, drawing an ostrich head should be a lot easier then sketching out the whole bird.
