How to Draw an Airplane

Step 1.

Start of with two circles. One is Oval and the other is a small circle.

Step 2.

Now draw two lines on the lower plane which is the front view this is going to show the planes wing span. At the top you can start to shape the body of the plane.

Step 3.

Step 4.

Add the tail end and wing to the top plane and draw the engine propeller tubes on the lower front view plane.

Step 5.

All you do here is add some windows to the top plane.

Step 6.

Now draw more detail to the top planes tail and wing. On the bottom plane draw even more detail to the engine propellers.

Step 7.

More line art detail is added to the passenger plane on the top. Don't forget the wheels on both models.

Step 8.

In this step all we are doing is adding more detail. The best thing to do is look at the image above and draw what ever the red lines are.

Step 9.

More detail is added to the windows.

Step 10.

And there you have it. Now your flying in style. Color your image, but first clean up your sketch or drawing.

Description: Airplanes are very scary for me. The thought of even getting on one gives me the juice bumps. Just knowing I have no control of what could happen on an airplane makes me say no thanks. I know the statistics say that flying is the safest way to travel, but for me Iā€™d rather drive or take a train. I have never been on an airplane, and I probably never will go on one either. Do you know what could happen up there, I mean the parts alone could be defective, the pilot could be over worked making it hard to focus, or he could put the plane on auto pilot and go to sleep. I will enlighten you with some brief info on the plane. Did you know that Leonardo da Vinci actually drew an aircraft in the 15th century, impressive and weird all at the same time. I think everyone know the Wright brothers. They were the boys that made their first test flight December 17, 1903. In this tutorial I show you "how to draw an airplane" from the front and side view for judgment purposes. The instructions are easy and they will be step by step obviously. I used an image of an airplane for a guide to draw from. I did not draw this particular image on paper first, it was all free hand in Photoshop. I think everyone has Photoshop at this place. I actually found this site because I was looking for a groovy online art hang out spot. I will be uploading tutorials from time to time. I love to draw new things and my mind is always open for suggestions on how to improve my work, so feel free to comment.
