How to Draw a Weeping Angel

Begin by making the outline for the head, then sketch in the outline for the shoulders. You will then end this step by sketching out the facial guidelines.

Using the shape you made in step one, sketch out the facial structure, then draw in the hair line for this stone angel. The hair line should be wavy and overlap one another.

Now that the face shape and hair line is drawn in, we can begin sketching the angel's face. Start with the thin eyebrows, then draw the closed eyes which means all you have to draw is the thick lid lashes. Add the creases on the lids, then sketch out

Finish sketching out the angel's hairstyle. As you can see the hair is shoulder length and it is also curled in rolled locks. Add detailing to the hair which is made of stone, then move along to step five.

You are already almost done with this lesson. All you have to do here is draw the shoulders and arms, then sketch in the collar bone using a very light stroke.

For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw the angel wings, then sketch in the detailing like the layered feathers, and smaller feathers that fill the wings with definition. Erase the mistakes and guides, then you are all done drawing a wee

Description: It's not too often that I get requests on angels but when I do I like to make sure I get them done because I am a big fan of angel art. Having said that, here is a tutorial based on a request and it's "how to draw a weeping angel", step by step. The stone style angel design is done to make it seem more realistic and emotional. I like the gothic style angels or the ones made from stone because they are more detailed and have a lot of history behind their formation. I just didn't want to make another anime, or cartoon type of angel so I went ahead and filled the request full force. I know all of you angel art fans will love drawing this weeping angel.
