How to Draw a Sad Angel
1
You will sketch in the torso and lower body guides like you see here. As you can see they are not perfect in shape so keep that in mind.
2
From the torso draw in the back part of the neck which will be resting upon the knees in later steps.
3
From at the base of the heeled over neck, draw in the arm or upper part of the arm. This should be a single shape.
4
Next, sketch in the hand which is going to be resting on the upper arm. Add some detailing to the hair as well by making a thick dark line.
5
You will now draw in the full leg line for the angel's leg which is cropped up or bent. The arm is resting upon the knees.
6
You will complete the form of the angel's body by drawing the foot, calf, thigh, buttocks, and then the back. The back should be slightly hunched over.
8
Now that the body is situated, you can begin drawing the long straight thick hair which hangs down past the legs almost touching the ground.
10
Begin drawing her angel wings. Start at the base of the wing which is attached to her back or wing bone. Carefully sketch out the wing making sure there are feathers edged out.
11
For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw in the second wing and sketch in all the detailing that makes up the feathers on the wing. When you feel like this drawing is complete, you can start erasing the mistakes and guides.

Description: I think it's time for another angel lesson and this time I will make it more comic book like instead of realistic or anime-ish. Here is another one of my concept drawings on "how to draw a sad angel", step by step. There have been so many stories that followed by previous lessons on fallen angels, or other angel concepts. Today I will keep things simple and say that this sad angel is crying her her head in her hands because her lover has died. The blood you see on her body is that of her fallen angel, and the feathers you see falling to her feet are also those of her lover's. If you look at the sad angel long enough you too will become sad. I always enjoy recreating angel concepts because when I'm done I feel fulfilled. I hope you guys enjoy this tut, I will be back with a few more lessons so keep those eyes peeled.
