How to Draw a Raptor

Step 1.


Your first step is to draw a few shapes that will make up the dinosaurs head, and body like so. When that is done you can then add the guidelines for the snout, neck, arms, legs, and tail like you see here.

Step 2.


Next, begin sketching out the shape of the raptor's head, and then the back of the neck and back like so. When you are done, move to step three.

Step 3.


Continue to draw out the shape of the raptor's face structure which includes the mouth, and or jaw line. You will then finish the shaping of the slightly curved neck, and then begin the arms and claws like you see here. When that is done you can draw   

Step 4.


Now it's time to finish off the shaping of your raptor's body which includes the arms, hands, legs, and feet. When these parts are drawn out, you can then draw out the belly like you see here.

Step 5.


Lastly, draw out the sharp looking teeth which are placed as an overbite, and then draw out the eye, and all the fingered claws and foot claws like so. Finally, add the detailing to the reptiles skin around the fingers, nose, eye, hind leg and tail.    

Step 6.


You just finished learning how to draw a raptor. All you need to do now is color this beast in and that's it. Great job guys, and enjoy the rest of your drawing day!

Description: Out of all the dinosaurs that came and went, there was only a handful that could be labeled one of the most ferocious, and devastating. The first dinosaur that comes to mind is the T-Rex. This massive bundle of joy was one of the biggest carnivorous to have ever walked the earth. They are even labeled one of the meanest, leanest killing machines because their sole existence was to kill, eat, and reproduce. Some other deadly dinosaurs was the Kronosaurus, which is a name given to this aquatic reptile to take after Kronos, the Greek God best known for devouring his children. Another fearsome specimen was the Giganotosaurus, which is a dinosaur that was first discovered in South America. Dinosaurs that walked the earth in South America, where said to be quite larger then their cousins from other places from the globe. The Giganotosaurus weighed an enormous eight tons, and like the T-Rex, only had three fingers. It is also said that this species was also one of the biggest man eaters that roamed its’ feet around the earth. Even though I have named some pretty nasty beasts, there is one that seems to top them all, and that is the Raptor. But oddly the one raptor we know of, Velociraptor, wasn’t the most dangerous from the raptor family. Instead, it was the Utahraptor that had giant single curved claws, and an instinct to kill. This tutorial is going to show you "how to draw a Raptor", and if you like, you can try and tweak the dinosaur to look like it’s close cousin the Utahraptor. You can find an image on this specific dinosaur just by typing in the name. In the mean time, I hope you enjoy this lesson which is filled with rawing fun.
