1

Make the guide shape for the Marine's face and then sketch in the facial guidelines.

2

You will now draw in the facial structure for the jawline and chin, and make sure the sides of the face are just simple straight lines.

3

Up next, we will tackle the hat. As you know a Marine's hat is very distinctive. We will draw the hard lid, then draw the band around the base of the lid and then draw the raised section above.

4

Now you can draw the top part of the hair which is stiff and very flat looking. When that is done draw the Marine symbol which is an eagle.

5

Now we will draw in the face. Start with the ears first and then draw in the eyes, nose and mouth. Use the facial guidelines to draw the face. Of course you can draw the face you would like. Add the definition to the face like the wrinkles and crease

6

For the last drawing step you will draw in the shape of his neck, then draw the shoulders and collar for the suit jacket. Add the shoulder straps and the stars on the jacket collar. Erase the mistakes and you're done. Don't forget to get rid of the g

Here is the line art when you are done drawing a Marine. Now all you have to do is color in the picture.

Description: The idea for this lesson came to me just yesterday when I watched my brother tell my parents how much it meant to him to become a Marine. Of course they don't approve of his decision because they feel that he could put his skills as a person to better use, but since he was just a little boy he has always talked about becoming a Marine. This lesson will show you how to draw a Marine, step by step and the face I used as the Marine is actually my brother Jeremy. He is sixteen years old and in eleventh grade, and when I say that this picture looks just like him, it really does look like him. The ice blue eyes, the stern stare and the serious nature of his looks. The tanks in the background are there because he is also a really big fan of building complicated model tanks. He has an airbrush and the whole nine to complete all his models with. Anyways, if you know someone who is a Marine or was a Marine, this would make an excellent lesson to tackle. I hope you have fun with it. I'd like to think that this tutorial is a tribute to all those men and woman out there who lost their lives and even risked their lives serving our Country. Adios folks and there are more lessons coming your way so stay put.
