How to Draw a Jumping Horse
1
let's begin by making two shapes, one for the head guide, and the other for the body of the jumping horse. Attach the two shapes with a neck line.
2
Start drawing out the actual structure of the horse's head and muzzle. You will then draw the ear, and form of the neck. Notice how the neck is slightly arched or humped a bit.
3
For the third step we will start drawing out the face. Color out a solid colored eyeball, then sketch in the detailing to the snout, cheek or jaw, then the neck.
4
Here you will take your time as you draw out the entire body as it's in a leaping or jumping pose. The front and back legs should be drawn and the hooves should also be well formed. Add muscle detailing where needed.
5
All you have to do here is draw the other back leg, then draw the lining marks for the hooves. Add detailing to the legs before leaving this step.
6
Sketch out the nicely flowing mane, then do the same things for the tail. Add detailing, definition, and style to the horse mane and tail. Erase the mistakes before finishing this sketch.

Description: There was this really cool idea that came to be by request. I was asked if I could make a tutorial on "how to draw a jumping horse", step by step. I really like the way that this horse came out because it sort of reminds me Spirit as far as color and body style goes. I realize that this jumping horse doesn't resemble Spirit fully, I'm just saying that it is similar to the horse from the animated movie. There is a lot of ways you can choose to draw a jumping horse in it's pose, but I went with what I like and this is it. The tutorial itself should be pretty fun, and even a little exciting. If you are a horse person and you love drawing these animals with a challenge, this submission is the right one for you. Well, I guess that's it. Have fun and be sure to rate, comment or both. Peace out people!
