Artist:

/ June 25, 2012
Step 1.
Lets start with the dragon's body shapes which will also form the posture. Make two shapes, one circle for the head, and another for the back end. Connect the two with a neck guide.

Step 2.
Using the shape you just made, sketch out the structure of the dragon's face which is also the snout. Next, take your time as you draw out the long straight goth style hairdo.

Step 3.
I wanted the horns to be a bit different from what I usually draw, so here you will make the horns in a circled fashion like a ram. Draw in the eyes, nostrils, and the slithering tongue. When that is done add detailing to the hair and the horns.

Step 4.
Now that the head and face is all drawn out, you can get started with drawing out the body. Start with the thick shape of the neck, then add more of the hair the same way you would draw a horse's mane. Make the lining for the chest, then draw the fro
nt legs and sharp toed feet. To end this step you will need to draw the spiked bracelets on each front ankle.

Step 5.
Continue working on the dragon's body taking care of the back first. Draw a nice flowing line to create the pose of the dragon then incorporate the shape of the long thick tail. There is a spiked tuft at the end of the tail like so. When this is done
you can draw the first back leg as well as the toes, and spiked bracelet. Make the stomach lining then move to step six.

You're almost done. All you need to do now is draw other leg, then make the other spiked bracelet. Draw the scales down the neck and belly like so, as well as the underneath part of the tail.

Draw in the first crippled looking wing like so, then move to step eight where you will finish off this dragon drawing.

Step 8.
Draw the other wing, almost the same way you did the first one. Sketch in the detailing then you are ready to start erasing the mistakes and guides.

Step 9.
Here is what your dragon looks like when you are all done. Now color him in and then you're done.

Description:
Hey guys, how is everybody doing, and how is your day going so far? I hope that you are doing well because I'm about to submit some smit that will rock out this joint for sure. Well, maybe not rock it out completely, but they will definitely be cool. I will start the tutorial day by uploading a lesson on "how to draw a Goth dragon", step by step. I figured there is more ways than one to make a new type of dragon species so here is my own version of what a Gothic style dragon would look like. I know many of you love lessons like these. I always strive to better my skills so that I can create more colorful, unique, and more interesting drawing tutorials for you all. I have so much more to learn, but at least I'm staying active with bettering myself in the art of drawing. Anyways, this is one of my favorite dragon lessons to date. I love the posture and pose that this dragon is standing in, and I also love the hair and colors too. Even though this is a dragon tut, that doesn't mean it will be difficult for you guys to replicate. I tried keeping things as simple as I possibly could so everyone could have a shot at drawing a Goth style dragon like the one you see here. That's about all I have to say. Let me bounce out of here so you can get busy. Adios people and remember to leave a comment, rating or both to let others know what you think.
