Artist:

/ April 8, 2014
Step 1.
We will start by drawing Kurt's eyes in patches rather then in a whole piece. As you can see the beginning part of tribal Kurt's first eye is jagged.

Step 3.
We will now get started in his face. Draw in the nose, then make the mouth, cheek indent and then some of the chin. Add some small dashes above the lip for Cobain's mustache.

Step 5.
Draw the left side of Kurt's face shape like so, then include the thick stand of hair that flows past his chin.

Step 6.
For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw in the rest of his hairstyle. As you know Kurt Cobain had that grungy look, so his hair is more like a medium to long rugged style. Color in the strands like so, then go ahead and erase the mistake

Step 7.
Here is the line art when you are all done. If you want to add some color you can go ahead and do that, or you can leave it as a black and white drawing.

Description:
Wow, it’s been a while since I have submitted anything so be sure to keep an eye out for the eight lessons that will be going up on the site today. I will begin with some tuts on tribal celebrities that I think a lot of folks will have a good time with. First, let's begin with learning how to draw tribal Kurt Cobain, step by step. I'm sure almost everyone knows that Kurt Cobain was the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter of the legendary band Nirvana. The anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death passed on April 5th, which makes him gone from this world for twenty years now. It's a sad thing because he was such a gifted artist. Drawing a tribal version of Kurt Cobain was not only inspiring, it was also very sad. I was only two years old when he passed away, but I have been listening to Nirvana since I was eleven. I hope you like this tut, I will return with more so stay tuned in.
