How to Draw the Cowardly Lion, Dorothy of Oz
2
Using the facial guides, draw out the oval shaped eyes, and then draw in the eyelids. You will draw the large shape of the snout or nose and notice how the top looks pinched together.
3
Okay, draw the marking rings around the eyes that you just drew in step one. When that is done darken the lining above the eyes until you form the brows. Draw the pupils, and then draw in the slit for the nose as well as the nostril holes.
4
It's finally time to sketch out the actual shape of Lion's face. As you can see there is no room or large amounts of space. Instead he has a long, droopy shaped face to match his personality. Draw in the ears, and then make sure the chin is sketched
5
Now comes the part where you will need to start sketching out Lion's mane. Part his mane in the middle, and then sketch out one side at a time.
6
Next, simply sketch in the strands to add definition and detail to his mane, and then move along to see what step seven has to bring.
7
Lastly, sketch out Lion's body and then add that chest fuzz. The legs also need to be drawn in so don't forget that. Erase the mistakes and guides that you drew previously.

Description: Here is a lion that is both annoying and loveable and he is from the very popular Wizard of Oz. Up next we will be tackling the task of drawing the Cowardly Lion step by step. Lion is one of my favorite characters because he is not only the funniest, but he is also the cutest, biggest, and loudest figure in the story. The Dorothy of Oz recreation of Lion has him looking a little more like a comical Scar or Mufasa type of cat. They manage to keep Lion’s curly locks as they incorporated some slopes with his mane style. The characters in the new Oz creation are not animated like a cartoon, or played by real people like they did with Wizard of Oz. Instead Dorothy of Oz is a CGI creation, and even though the characters look slightly different, they all seem like they will be interesting figures as they take on the task of making it through Oz. This version of the Cowardly Lion was a little difficult to draw because I have to make the snout align with the mouth as Lion kept his silly expression. Well, that is all I have to say. I will let you get busy tackling "how to draw the Cowardly Lion", and I will get busy with preparing another submission for you all. Peace out people!
