How to Draw Scorpions

Start the first step by drawing out an oblong shape that looks like a nut of some sorts. You will then draw a dividing line for the head of the scorpion like so.

Using the guide shape you drew in step one, begin sketching out the four parts of the scorpion's body like so, and then shape out the size and form of the head. You will also need to draw the little notch for the mouth, and then move to step three.

Draw out the tail and be sure that it is bony like and in four separated segments. The stinger should have a point, and when you are done drawing out the tail, you can sketch in some detailing and definition on the stinger, and on the head like you s

For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw out four crawling legs like you see here. Again, they are in segments and each leg is drawn in three parts. Erase the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up the sketch.

Description: Scorpions are arthropods that are feared by millions of people around the world. I was asked if I could make another tutorial on a scorpion that looked as fierce as they are feared. So after being asked this, I thought it would be a cool idea to go ahead and make a lesson on "how to draw scorpions", step by step. I didn’t actually make a traditional looking scorpion, instead I went ahead and made it look a little more exaggerated and the actual anatomy of the scorpion isn’t accurate either. Overall the design concept came out looking pretty cool, and the way I colored in the creature makes it look fiery, and mean with lots of attitude. The scorpion is packed with venom and just one sting from this arthropod and you may just be down for the count. I will upload some detailed tip steps at a later date with actual diagrams of the scorpions anatomy. For now, enjoy this lesson on drawing scorpions, and when you are done you can add the Scorpio symbol next to the sketch if that is your zodiac sign.
