How to Draw a Chain

This is a step by step sketch on how to draw a chain using a link by link manner. Start by drawing the first link, and then draw the connector, and then draw in another link.

Now lets draw the chain in an even more detailed manner. Start by drawing a straight guideline on a slanted angle like you see here.

Now on that guideline that you drew in step one, start drawing each shape of the three part chain link and then move to step four.

Draw the lining that makes each link a shape, and then draw a connecting link to each piece of chain like you see here.

End the final step by drawing more of the last two links, and then erase the one guideline that you drew in step two.

Description: Hello once again and welcome back to another fun filled tutorial that you may or may not like. I will first start by submitting this lesson on "how to draw a chain", step by step. As you know chains can sometimes be very confusing to draw and I think its because of the complexity of making each link connect in a uniform and neat manner. I’ve submitted a few lessons over time that included some tip steps on how to draw chains and some of the reasons why I included these tips, is because there was either a chain involved with the picture, or a chain was being used as a character weapon. The tutorial is going to be easy, and I included a sketch that shows you a few ways that you can draw a chain link. This will enable you to have some idea as to knowing the first step to making chains the right way. When you are done you can you can use what you just learned and incorporate a chain in your next drawing. I hope you have fun, be sure to leave a comment to let me know what you think.
