How to Draw Raekwon, Raekwon From Wu-Tang Clan

Now that our construction lines are in place, let's start working on the eyes. They should rest evenly on the horizontal eye line of the face. The general rule of thumb is that eyes are roughly one eye width apart from one another. Let's have him mak

Next, draw his nose which is wide and bulbous, especially due to the expression he is making. Be sure to draw creases in the skin protruding out from the corners of the nostrils, pointing down towards either side of the mouth.

His mouth should be making a funny expression. His upper lip can be dramatically curled upwards on his right side, with the lower lip puckered slightly. The lower lip should be thicker than the upper lip. Be sure to draw thin creases on the lips that

Raekwon has a very round head and face. Draw the contours of his jaw line and the side of his face. Notice that his jaw is significantly wider than the sides of his face near his eye line. The jaw will later be covered by a beard.

Draw his ears on either side of the head. Because his head is slightly tilted, his left ear will appear higher than his right. Be sure to draw the rounded mold shapes of the inner ear.

Now draw his hair on the top of his head. It should be very short and coarse. You don't need to worry about drawing individual hair since his hair will be blacked out after we ink.

Go back to his jaw and draw his beard. Although short, it is also very thick. The facial hair wraps around his mouth and covers his jaw and the sides of his head, connecting to his sideburns.

A small portion of his neck should be visible. It is very thick, and the bottom should be cut off by a curved line which will be the collar of his tee shirt.

Before working on his torso, it's a good idea to draw his forearms and hands first. Remember that he has a large build, so the arms should be thick. The hands are mostly tucked behind his head, so we should only be able to see a portion of his palms.

You can give him some bling by having him wear a diamond encrusted watch or bracelet. The band should wrap around his left wrist in a circular shape and be made up of a series of thin rectangular shapes which are made of small diamonds.

He should be wearing a large, baggy tee shirt. Be sure to draw numerous vertical wrinkles and creases in the fabric of the shirt, and that the shoulders have a lot of bunched up fabric resting on them. The creases should be long and smooth, some merg

Now that we are done penciling the image, we can ink it using Micron markers or a brush and India ink. Brushes work wonderfully when inking creases in fabric. Carefully go over each line with patience and be sure not to accidentally ink any unneeded

You can add more depth to the image by giving it shadow. Establish your light source and use black ink or a fat tipped black marker to shade the opposite side of the figure and every clothing wrinkle and fold. Also black out his hair and beard.

If you need to make any corrections, use white ink or opaque white paint. You can also use it to add highlights if needed. In this case I gave him a few highlights at the top of his head and outlined his beard to help it stand out against the shadow.
