How to Draw Gale Hawthorne, Hunger Games
1
Begin the first step by making a circle shape for the head and then draw in the face guide as well as the guideline for his neck.
2
Using the shape you drew in step one as your guide, begin to slowly sketch out the face structure for Gale or Liam. For me I always start with the ear when I draw a face from a 3/4 view angle. The lining is going to be sharp and full of angles instea

Here you will start using the facial guides so you can draw in the eyebrows, and very broad shaped nose. Liam Hemsworth has two very prominent parts to his face, the nose, and mouth. Lightly sketch in the left nostril, and then move to step four.

Continue to work on Gale, or Liam's face by sketching in the eyes, as well as the eyelids, and inner ear detailing. Notice the lining is thick and bold for added detail and definition. Once the eyes are drawn, begin the process of sketching out his m

Almost done guys. Once we complete this step, all we have to do next is draw in his neck and shoulders. All you will be doing here is sketching out the rest of his messy type of hairstyle. I didn't want to add too much detailing because I know some o

And finally, sketch the neck shape, as well as his shoulders and shirt collar. Be sure to take your time with this step so the shirt comes out nice and neat. Clean up the drawing and then proceed to the last step to see how your Gale Hawthorne should

Description: Well guys, as you know the theatrical version of the very popular Suzanne Collins’ book ‘Hunger Games’ is drawing near. I was going through some requests and saw a few people ask me to make a tutorial on "how to draw Gale Hawthorne", step by step. At first I didn’t know if I should have made a lesson on drawing Liam Hemsworth because as some of you may know he is going to be portraying the fictional character that embarks on the same journey with Peeta and Katniss. Now from what I understand the three main figures in Hunger Games are Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, and Gale Hawthorne. Gale is a couple years older than Katniss, but they both lost their father in the same explosion that took place in a coal mine. Once the funeral for their fathers was over, they didn’t see one another until he was fourteen and she was twelve. Together they became friends and learned a lot from one another. Gale and Katniss hunt together often, and Gale has even taught her how to make some very effective snares to aid her to catching game for her family. I’m not one hundred percent on his background since I haven’t read the book series. I’m probably not going to watch the film when it comes out either because I just don’t think that I would enjoy it as much as I would reading the book first. I often enjoy reading book versions which movies are based on because your imagination creates a world of its own opposed to watching something that has been generated from someone else’s interpretation. Anyways, the face I used to base Gale’s character on is actually a cartoon version of Liam Hemsworth. I used a reference picture that is from a movie still so that he looks similar to how the character is going to be portrayed in the Hunger Games film. I hope you enjoy this lesson; I worked hard on the sketch and coloring. Please remember to leave a comment or rating to let others, and I know what you think. Have fun drawing Gale Hawthorne folks, I’m sure you will find this tutorial exciting as well as challenging.
