How to Draw Daenerys Targaryen

Begin with the basic shape of the face and the guidelines for the eyes , nose and mouth, as well as the one for the dragon's body. Continue with some outline of the face and the dragon's body. Finish with some details such as the eyes, nose, mouth.

You'll work with layers. Draw the first layer with a 2B pencil,and hold the pencil underhand so that you don't use the tip of the pencil, just the side of it. Then smudge it using either a tissue or a Q-tip.

Repeat the process for the second layer but this time press harder with your pencil. Use the same pencil as before.

Finish the first wing with some details such as the darker areas and the texture.Then move on to the second wing.

As you can see the process is the same as for the second wing.

Now for the dragon's body, you have to make layers again. Make a first very light layer, then smudge , then make a second one, then smudge again. Don't make the claws yet.

Start adding details to the darker areas first, also start from the top and slowly move towards the bottom

Now make the details on its legs and last, draw the claws. They require little work, which is why I haven't added details to them until now.

The head requires a bit more attention than the rest of the body, which is why I've left it for the last steps on the dragon. First make a light layer, smudge, then draw little circles around eyes and semi-circles on the rest of it's head. This will

Then make a second , darker layer , smudge after and the add some highlights where you think it's neccessary.

For the face and shoulders , make a very very light layer using a 2B pencil. Then smudge it using something with a large, soft surface, preferably a piece of tissue, or cotton.

Repeat the proccess with a slightly darker layer. Use the same piece of tissue as before.

Move on to the eyes. Draw the eyebrows first using a sharp 2B pencil, the draw the actual eyes and the shadows around them. For the eyelashes use a dark pencil. I used an 8B.

Now make the basic shadow for the nose. Then darken it as I did. After you're done with the nose connect it to the eyes with details.

Move down to the mouth. Draw a few shadows around it and the draw the inside of it. Her mouth is slightly open, so you'll have to make a few visible teeth. The mouth is very important, since the slightest mistake can change her whole face expression.

Now continue adding details making your way down to her ......well...bosom.

The hair very easy since it's white. Make a few lines that indicate the direction in which the hair is growing, like I did in the first image. Then draw the darker areas of the hair following the guide lines. That dark thing between her neck and the

For the background use graphite powsder and something to smudge it . Be carefull not to apply any on her hair.

On the background you already have , add some highlights and also make some areas darker using an 8B pencil . I've added contrast to my drawing using a program called SAI. Do the same if your scanner brights up your drawing too much. I hope you enjo

Description: Daenerys Targaryen is one of the main characters from the Game of Thrones series. She also goes by the name of Khaleesi, or the mother of dragons. This tutorial is quite difficult so you better have a lot of patience. It took me 4 days to complete this drawing, I guess it would take you a bit more. I'm not going to say a lot about her since I don'twant to spoil the show for the ones who have't seen Game of Thrones yet. For those who have seen it, enjoy.
