How to Draw a Simple Dragon

Step 1.


Let's make some guides first. Start with a head and body shape like so, then sketch in the facial guideline and tail end guide.

Step 2.


We will now draw the actual head shape followed by the frills on the back part of the head.

Step 3.


You will now draw in the dragon's jaw structure, snout and then more of the frills to finish the top part of the head. When that is complete you can draw the horn on the nose, some teeth and then a large eye.

Step 4.


We will now start to draw the dragon's body starting with the neck. Move on down to the chest, arm, tail and claws.

Step 5.


Draw the back end of your dragon which is the thighs, legs and feet. Then draw in the belly and the other claw.

Step 6.


Add the spikes down the back and neck then draw in scales and the marking line down the neck.

Step 7.


This is your last drawing step. All you have to do is draw in the wings and add some detailing to them. Erase your mistakes and guides before leaving this last drawing step.

Step 8.


And there you have it. A finished drawing of a simple dragon. Now you can choose a color to bring your dragon drawing to life.
