Step 1.

Begin by drawing two shapes, one for the head and the other for the torso or body. Sketch in the facial guidelines then draw in the limb guide for Rosie's arm.

Step 2.

Here you will begin sketching out the shape of Rosie's face, then draw in the lining of her handkerchief that she wears on her head to hold her hair back. Some of the hair peeks through in the form of curls so be sure to draw that in as well.

Step 3.

We will tackle Rosie's face by first drawing the strong looking eyebrows. There should be an arch in the brow to help give that assertive expressive look. Draw in the shapes of her eyes, then draw the nose, mouth and facial definition on the cheek, a

Step 4.

Here you will complete the handkerchief and be sure to draw in the knot at the top part of the head.

Step 5.

Next, draw in the shape of her neck, then draw the collar for her work shirt along with the buttons, and pleating at the shoulder.

Step 6.

Here you will tackle the task of sketching out the sleeve, as well as her hand gripping a combination of muscle and sleeve. There should be some crinkles and finger detailing.

Step 7.

Okay, so Rosie is coming along and we should be finished soon. In this step you will draw out her strong looking flexed arm. She is also making a fist with the hand to show strength and power.

Step 8.

For the last drawing step, all you have to do is draw the back line, and the rest of her arm that is clutching to her muscle. Add the detailing on the shirt, then start erasing your mistakes.

Step 9.

Here is the completed image of Rosie the Riveter. Color her in and show folks what you just created.

Description: For the next lesson of the day we will be tackling a fictional public figure from the World War II era. Up next, here is "how to draw Rosie the Riveter", step by step. Rosie the Riveter was an icon that was used to represent all the women in the workforce during the Second World War. The women who worked in factories temporarily replaced the male workforce until the men came home from the war. These women workers used to work in factories that produced war supplies and other various supplies. After a while Rosie the Riveter was used to represent the economic power of women as well as a symbol for feminism. Drawing Rosie the Riveter will be pretty simple, but if you run into any problems don’t fret, just take your time as you move through the lesson. I will be back so stay tuned in.
