How to Draw a Guardian Angel, Angel Statue

Step 1.


Draw a circle for the head, then sketch in the facial guidelines.

Step 2.


Sketch out the shape of the angels face like so, then draw the hairline.

Step 3.


Draw the shapes of the eyes, then draw the slender shape of the angels nose. You will then add detailing and definition around the eyes as well.

Step 4.


Draw the mouth in a subtle smile then draw the big bottom lip.

Step 5.


Draw the top part of the head, then draw the hair as it folds up and curls back. Instead of short hair like we see in statues at the cemetery, I wanted her to have long locks.

Step 6.


Add the detailing to her hair, then add some detailing to the inside of her curled hair.

Step 7.


Sketch out the shape of the neck, then draw the shoulders, and collar bone.

Step 8.


Draw the large arched wing shapes like so, then draw the bone or rib part of the wing too.

Step 9.


Sketch in the feathers on the inside of the wings like so, then add the little details around the inside of the wings. Erase the mistakes then you're done.

Step 10.


Your guardian angel looks like the one you see here. Color her in and show off your sketch.

Description: This is going to be one of the best angels that I have made and submitted thus far. Today I will be showing you "how to draw a guardian angel", step by step. Instead of making an angel of cartoon or anime quality, I decided that making a statue form of angel could best showcase how we envision a guardian angel to be. They have flawless faces, large wings, and subtle expressions. Many folks believe that they have a guardian on their shoulders watching over them for all time. These guardian angels are also believed to be loved ones that have passed on who's spirit sticks around until they feel their time or presence is no longer needed. The statue in this lesson will be easy to tackle especially if yo have experience with drawing. Don't let the colored piece detour you away from tackling this tut on drawing a guardian angel.
