How to Draw a Heart Shaped Tiger

Artist: Dawn / October 12, 2012

Step 1.

Begin with two shapes, one for the head and the other for the body. Sketch in the facial guides.

Step 2.

For step two, all we will do is begin sketching out the outline of the actual face shape. This should include the ear, fluffy cheeks, and some of the toe for the paw.

Step 3.

We will draw in more of the head starting with the other ear. Draw in the paws which are folded over one another, then sketch out the front leg.

Step 4.

Color in some of the ear tips solid, then sketch out the closed eyes. You will draw out the nose, then sketch in some detailing.

Step 5.

Draw out the whole body. Make sure you draw out the long hairless tail which curls at the tip. Draw the thigh arch, then move to step six.

Step 6.

Okay guys, draw out the heart shaped wings one arch at a time. When the heart shape is drawn, you can start adding details to the wings like the feathers.

Step 7.

Lastly, clean up the mistakes, then draw the stripes on the tiger's body. The lines shouldn't be the same, they should all be different. Color the tip of the tiger's tail, then you are done.

Step 8.

Here is what your heart shaped tiger looks like when you are all done. Now just color in your work.

Description: I guess a lot of people liked the heart shaped wolf that I uploaded a couple days ago. Now because of this, I will fill another request that asked for a lesson on "how to draw a heart shaped tiger", step by step. The tiger was a good idea to sketch into a heart because these big cats have a lot of character in their genetic make-up. I drew the same body pose for the tiger just as I did the wolf. The wings are even slightly the same. You will follow the same drawing technique in this tutorial as the heart shaped wolf. I know this is going to lead to more requests of other animals in a heart shape, so I will sit here and wait for more great ideas while you tackle this tutorial. I shall return so keep in your seats and don't stray too far.
