How to Draw a Fire Hydrant, Fire Hydrant
1
Make two simple guidelines. One long vertical line and another shorter horizontal line at the base of the guide.
2
Next, draw out the stem of the hydrant like so, and then draw in the base which is in two pieces. Fire hydrants are made of some kind of iron which is why they are extremely durable. Once you have finished with this step, move along.
3
Starting at the tip of the vertical guide, begin drawing out a bow like shape for the top of the hydrant. Draw the bolts at the top like so, and then draw in the grooves on that cap as well as the thick band like you see here. It should come out look
4
For the last step, all you have to do is draw out the two valves on both sides of the hydrant like so. Once that is done you can draw in more of the groove lines which adds character to the fire hydrant. Erase the mistakes and you're done.

Description: The last time I submitted tutorials they were pretty exciting and well liked. Today I will go gentle and submit some stuff that is going to be helpful, cute, and easy to replicate. To start things off what do you say that we all learn "how to draw a fire hydrant", step by step? The main reason for my urge to make a tutorial out of this simple object that we see every day is simple, if you draw sceneries a lot you might want to teach yourself how to create one of the more subtle objects that should be in a scenario especially if the scene you’re drawing is of a city street, neighborhood, or even a firehouse. The hydrant that you guys will be tackling today is going to be pretty simple. I think some of you will find that teaching yourself the technique to drawing a fire hydrant can come in handy when the time is right. Anyways, have fun everyone and be sure to let me know if you like this submission. I’ll be back so stay tuned in!
