How to Draw a Face Profile

Step 1.


The first thing you need to do is draw out the head or face guide like so. Then you can draw in the back part of the neck.

Step 2.


Starting at the top, draw in the forehead. You will then continue the lining to create the nose, lips, chin and jawline.

Step 3.


Up next, draw the hair that is combed behind the ear. Also, you might want to draw the ear first.

Step 4.


Use the facial guidelines to draw in the eyebrow, pretty eyes, and then define the mouth by drawing the lips. Be sure the lashes are long and dark.

Step 5.


I wanted this model to have a long slender neck because that is what my sister has. Draw in the neck shape, then some of the bust area.

Step 6.


Now you will have to draw in the cloth choker that the girl is wearing, then draw in the sleeve or collar line for her blouse.

Step 7.


For the last step sketch out the rest of her hair which also forms the shape of her head. The hair is long, slightly wavy and pulled to one side. Erase the guides and shape, then your mistakes.

Step 8.


That's it, you are done with drawing a face profile. Color in your work and move onto something else.
