Step 1.

Start with the guides and shapes.

Here you will use those guides to draw in Squirtle's face.

Now go ahead and draw out the rest of the body, minus the tail.

Next, draw the definition on the belly which is a shell like pattern. You will also draw in the tail and the mushroom off to the side.

Now add some expressive detailing to the face before erasing the mistakes and guides.

That's it, you are all done. Now you can go ahead and color in the art.
