How to Draw Tribal Lions

Step 1.

Since you are making three lions you will need to draw three lion head guides with one of them containing facial guidelines.

Step 2.

Let's start with the lion on the left side. Sketch out the bridge of the nose, then draw the side view of the nose. You will then draw in the upper lip and bottom jaw.

Step 3.

Fill in the mouth with some sharp lion teeth. They should also be colored in solid.

Step 4.

Sketch in the rounded detailing to create the lip texture, then add the crinkling on the nose.

Step 5.

We will turn this simple lion into a roaring beast by sketching out the forehead, and mane lining like so. Be sure to incorporate the ear too and have the mane run to the middle lion head.

Step 6.

Sketch out the mane for the middle lion and make sure it is scary wild or just fluffy.

Step 7.

Now sketch in the last lion head and be sure to draw in the chin hair and the darkened area to form the nose.

Step 8.

Sketch in the mane which should frame the face, then draw the teeth that fill the mouth.

Step 9.

Draw in the eye and the lip detailing.

Step 10.

Use the facial guidelines to draw out the shapes of the eyes then add the marks down the cheeks for added detailing and effects.

Step 11.

For the last step all you have to do is sketch out the lion's nose, sketch out the shape of the roaring mouth then color it in leave four pointed white spaces for the fangs, then sketch in the crinkling on the nose. Erase the mistakes and you are don

Step 12.

Once all the mistakes and guides are gone, and the image is colored in, your tribal lions tattoo should look as rad as the one you see here. I hope you had fun.
